Gardens, pools and terraces across Dubai

5.0Rated 5 out of 5. Google Reviews

We do landscape design for villas across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Pools, terraces, shade, planting and the lighting that makes a garden usable after dark. We draw it in enough detail for a landscape contractor to price and build.

The usual story

A garden is built from the ground up, and the ground is the part nobody drew.

  • Levels and drainage get decided on site

Where the water goes is the first thing to design and the last thing anyone draws, so it is settled by the man with the digger.

  • Planting is chosen for the picture, not the summer

A scheme that looks right in March is replaced twice by September when it was never selected for this climate.

  • Pool, lighting and irrigation are three separate trades

Each one digs up what the last one laid, because no single drawing ever showed all three together.

    Survey and brief

    Free site survey

We measure the plot and take the levels. Then we agree how you want to use the garden through the year, which in Dubai is a different answer in January and in July.

You receiveA measured survey of the plot with levels taken, and a written brief covering how you want to use the garden through the year.

Garden terrace with lounge seating, the fire pit and the pool alongside

    Area by area

Most Dubai gardens cost more than they should because the water and the shade were decided last. Planting that cooks in July gets replaced, and a terrace nobody can stand on in summer is money spent on a view. Those two things come first here.

    • Pool with in water sun loungers, a fire feature and the pergola behind

      The pool and its surround

Where the pool sits, how deep it goes, and where the pump and filters hide. You walk on the deck barefoot in July, so the material matters more than the outline does.

    • Pool terrace with loungers, palms and the pergola along the boundary

      Shade and seating

Built shade is the most useful thing in a Dubai garden. We work out where the sun reaches through the day, then put the seating where people will actually sit.

    • Garden bed with bougainvillea, lavender and a sun lounger

      Planting

Every plant named, with its size at planting and its size in five years. Only a short list of species holds up through a Dubai summer, and we specify from it.

    • Pool with planting beds, palms and the terrace running alongside

      Water and irrigation

Where every pipe runs and how much water each bed needs. Gardens here die from bad irrigation far more often than from bad planting.

    • Villa and pool at dusk with planting along the terrace

      Lighting

A Dubai garden is used after dark for half the year. We draw the lighting layout so you can see the planting and the steps without being dazzled.

    • Pool terrace with outdoor dining under a parasol and the villa behind

      Levels, steps and drainage

Where the ground rises and falls, and where the water goes when it rains. Getting this wrong floods a terrace, and it cannot be fixed once the paving is down.

      Our story

We founded Conceptor in Dubai in 2021 to design architecture, interiors and landscape as one process. When the same team draws the building and the garden, the two meet properly instead of being reconciled on site.

Today we are an award-winning studio. Our architects, interior designers, visual artists and strategists work with private clients and developers across the MENA region. Every garden starts with how you want to use it through the year, and every drawing follows it.

      • Architecture, interiors and landscape under one team
      • The same team from first concept to final site visit
      • Levels, planting and irrigation drawn, not left to the contractor
      • Construction-ready drawings and site support to the finish

      Why us

What you get here that a company doing both the design and the building cannot offer you.

      • The garden is designed by the same team as the interior, so the sightlines, the floor levels and the materials line up where they meet.

        Inside and outside drawn together

      • A company that designs and builds is paid for the construction as well as the design. We are not. Nobody here has a reason to approve a price we would otherwise question.

We do not profit from the build

      • Unclear drawings are why garden budgets grow, because anything missing becomes an extra charge once work starts. Ours leave the contractor nothing to guess.

Drawings a contractor can price without guessing

      • Shade, water use and surface temperature are decided first here, not added at the end. A garden that cannot be used from May to September is a garden you paid to look at.
